U.S. House Scorecard, 115th Congress
January 3, 2017 to January 3, 2019
In the 115th Congress, members of the US House of Representatives participated in six votes which were of great importance to secular and nontheistic Americans. In addition, Representatives had the opportunity to co-sponsor three other pieces of legislation which supported the goals of nontheistic Americans.
For this scorecard, the CFE sought for Representatives to vote “No” on all the below pieces of legislation. Votes highlighted in red represent a “Yes” vote, which means the vote is opposed to the CFE’s position, while votes highlighted in green represent “No” votes, which supports the CFE’s position. For the last three resolutions scored on this scorecard, the Darwin Day Resolutions (H.Res. 44/H.Res. 699), the National Day of Reason Resolutions (H.Res 263/H.Res. 852), and the anti-blasphemy law resolution (H. Res. 349) co-sponsorships are being evaluated instead of votes. Those who chose to co-sponsor any of these resolutions received a positive grade.
Clicking on a state on the map will take you to that state's House congressional delegation, from which you can see how your Representative voted and their overall letter grade. A summary of the bills and resolutions included in this scorecard can be found here. Or, you can hover over each bill name in the tables below to learn more.
